The trade-off is file size - PNG files are larger than the equivalent JPG, which is the normal cost of keeping every pixel intact.

Why choose PNG instead of JPG for a PDF page?
PNG is lossless, so text, tables and line art stay perfectly sharp. JPG compression can add faint blur or halos around crisp black-on-white text, which is exactly what most document pages contain.
Which page is exported?
The page number you enter, defaulting to page 1. Run it again with another number for additional pages.
What resolution do I get?
180 DPI - about 1240×1750 pixels for an A4 page, sharp on screen and suitable for slides and print.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. PDF pages are rendered with their white page background, so the image is opaque. To remove a background afterwards, use the Background Remover.
Why is the PNG bigger than a JPG of the same page?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, while JPG discards fine detail to save space. That is the trade-off for the sharper result.
