Transparent areas in a PNG are flattened onto a solid page, because PDF pages are opaque, so a logo on a transparent canvas appears on a clean background rather than as a checkerboard. What happens to transparent areas in my PNG?
PDF pages are opaque, so transparency is flattened onto a solid page background. The visible artwork is unchanged - only the see-through areas become solid.
