Remove ZIP Password takes an archive you have the password for and gives you back an ordinary, unprotected ZIP with the same files and folder structure. Enter the current password, and the contents are extracted and repacked without encryption. This is for convenience, not for breaking into files: the correct password is required, and nothing is recovered, guessed or cracked. The usual reasons are practical ones - an archive from a supplier or bank that you have to unlock every single time you open it, a protected backup being moved into a system that cannot handle encrypted archives, or a file whose password was shared with a team and no longer needs to be typed by everyone. Both AES-256 and older ZipCrypto archives are supported.

How to remove a password from a ZIP file in 3 steps
Step 1: choose your password protected ZIP file, or drag it onto the upload box. Step 2: enter the current password. Step 3: press Remove Password and download the new ZIP.
The new archive has the same files and folder structure, but it opens without asking for a password. Your original file on your computer is not changed.
ZIP unlocker for AES-256 and ZipCrypto archives
ZIP files can be protected with two methods. ZipCrypto is the older method used by the built-in Windows tool. AES-256 is the modern, stronger method used by 7-Zip, WinRAR and most other archivers. This tool handles both.

If you forgot the ZIP password

Can this open a ZIP if I do not know the password?
No. The correct current password is required. This tool removes protection from an archive you can already open - it does not crack, guess or recover passwords, and there is no way for us to do so.

Are my files and folder structure preserved?
Yes. Subfolders and file names are rebuilt exactly as they were; only the encryption is removed.

Is my password stored anywhere?
No. It is used only to open the archive during processing and is never written to disk or included in any message. The uploaded file and the result are deleted automatically from temporary storage.
