About this HEIC to JPG tool

HEIC to JPG converts photos taken on an iPhone or iPad into the universally supported JPG format. Since iOS 11, Apple devices save photos as HEIC by default — a space-efficient format that Windows often cannot open without paid codecs, and that many websites, government portals, job applications and printing services reject outright. Upload the HEIC file and download a JPG that opens everywhere. The conversion preserves the photo's full resolution and color; JPG applies its normal light compression, which is not visible in ordinary photos. If you hit this problem constantly, you can also set the iPhone camera to shoot JPG directly (Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible).

How to use HEIC to JPG

  1. Open the tool and add your file, text or values.
  2. Review the available options such as page range, output format, quality, password or language.
  3. Start the process and keep the browser window open until it finishes.
  4. Download the result and continue with a related tool if needed.

Useful tips

Frequently asked questions

Why are my iPhone photos in HEIC format?

Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC by default because it stores the same quality in roughly half the space of JPG. The trade-off is that many non-Apple systems cannot open it.

Why won't HEIC photos open on Windows?

Windows needs the HEVC codec, which is a paid add-on on many systems. Converting the photo to JPG sidesteps the problem entirely — JPG opens on everything.

Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?

The full resolution and colors are preserved. JPG applies its standard light compression, which is not visible in normal photos. Expect the JPG file to be somewhat larger than the HEIC.

Can I stop my iPhone from creating HEIC files?

Yes: Settings → Camera → Formats → choose "Most Compatible" and the camera saves JPG directly. Existing HEIC photos still need conversion.

Are Live Photos and bursts supported?

The still image converts normally. The motion part of a Live Photo is a separate video and is not part of the HEIC image conversion.

Is the converter free and private?

Yes. Free with no signup, and uploaded photos are stored only temporarily under random names before automatic cleanup.
