About this PNG to JPG tool

This converter turns a PNG image into a JPG, usually shrinking the file dramatically — a photo saved as PNG is often 5–10× larger than the same photo as a high-quality JPG. Convert when a form or portal rejects PNG or enforces a size limit, when email attachments are too heavy, or when you need faster-loading images and WebP is not an option. One thing to know before converting: JPG does not support transparency. If your PNG has a transparent background (common for logos), the transparent areas will be filled with a solid background in the JPG. For logos and graphics with sharp text, PNG or WebP usually remains the better format; for photos, JPG is exactly right.

How to use PNG to JPG

  1. Open the tool and add your file, text or values.
  2. Review the available options such as page range, output format, quality, password or language.
  3. Start the process and keep the browser window open until it finishes.
  4. Download the result and continue with a related tool if needed.

Useful tips

Frequently asked questions

What happens to a transparent background?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas of the PNG are filled with a solid background color in the output. If you need to keep transparency, stay with PNG or convert to WebP instead.

How much smaller will my file get?

For photographic images, typically 70–90% smaller. For screenshots and graphics the saving is smaller, and fine text may show slight JPG artifacts.

Does converting to JPG lose quality?

JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of detail is discarded — at the quality level used here it is generally invisible for photos. Avoid converting images you plan to edit repeatedly.

When should I NOT convert PNG to JPG?

Logos, icons, screenshots with small text, and images needing transparency. JPG artifacts show most on sharp edges and flat colors — exactly what those images contain.

Is this the same as compressing the image?

Related but different: this changes the format. If you want to keep PNG format but reduce size, use the Image Compressor tool instead.

Is the converter free?

Yes — free, no account, no watermark, and uploads are cleaned from temporary storage automatically.
